Scary Liquefied Ground Moving Under Foot Video | Earthquakes Are Scary In Japan

24 sec read

Earthquakes are scary. This is hardly a revelation, as both those who have lived through one and those who have never experienced one know they’re absolutely terrifying.

However, this video makes the already scary natural phenomenon even scarier. Yes, this is the ground moving as if it was alive.

What’s actually happening is that the soil underneath the pavements is liquefying. Which turns previously solid ground into something more akin to quicksand.

Is it just me that is mortified that this is a thing?! It means I could never move to Japan, where this was filmed. Even though the locals are so used to the experience they don’t seem at all perturbed.
