I’m afraid when it comes to robotics I am something of a Luddite. I find them scary as a result of watching The Matrix one too many times.
This is a transforming hexapod robot called MorpHex, apparently. I only know because it says so at the beginning of the video. Other than that I know little about the scary but cool crawly thing featured.
Hexapod is the Latin for ‘six-footed’, which would explain why there is a whole field of robotics with that name. This one looks like a crab or perhaps some kind of insect. Either way I don’t like it.
I’s serious about the The Matrix thing. We know that one day the machines will turn against us, and when they do, these will be the things scuttling after you with a laser attached to each limb.
