Tappan Zee Bridge Crane Collapse Video | Construction Workers Injured In New York

A huge crane being used to build the new Tappan Zee Bridge in New York has collapsed, injuring four construction workers, and blocking all lanes for several hours.

This all happened on Tuesday (Jul 19), which means the bridge has once again opened for business.

The crane is thought to have suffered some sort of malfunction while operating a vibratory hammer, and as a result the whole thing collapsed onto the bridge and into the water.

The new Tappan Zee Bridge is being built alongside the existing one, which dates back to 1955. Work will continue on once the crane has been cleared away, with the new bridge due to be completed by 2018.
