You’ve probably heard about these kind of pranks happening all the time. One day, there’s an election sign (in this case a McCain & Palin sign) in a yard, and the next day it’s gone.
But if you were to witness one of these acts of vandalism occurring, would a rifle really be necessary? Well, according to this Republican it was.
I don’t know about the laws in Ohio, but where I live in Georgia it is completely legal to shoot someone who you see as a threat on your private property. Still, pulling out a gun over a yard sign seems like a ridiculous threat to me. Even though the shooter was set free, it’s good to know he was fined and criminally charged.
According to the property owner, he was only firing “warning shots.” Though, if you look at the photos of the car there is no doubt that he was aiming. Had the boy been shot in the head instead of the arm, I think this would have made an even bigger story.
