For all we know, the kid was casing the place and just pretending to be messing with the sign to throw suspicion off what he was really doing. Bet he'll think twice before scaring some other person like that, though. People need to take responsibility for their own actions, and those of their children. You CAN NOT just walk up into people's yards in this country. Not with police being unable to prevent ANY crimes and letting the criminals out of jail even when they are lucky enough to catch them. Hats off to the man for protecting his property and I hope he fights the charges and wins. If it were me, I'd tell them I thought I saw a gun in his hands.
