The Band Perry – ‘If I Die Young’ Music Video | Breakthrough Video At CMT Music Awards

This is the official music video for If I Die Young by The Band Perry. It recently won the ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year’ at the 2011 CMT Music Awards. And deservedly so if you ask me.

I don’t usually like country music. In fact, I’d consider it the most hateful genre of music of all time. But that’s harking back to the bad old days when country songs all followed a particular pattern.

You know what I mean: they’d all tell stories of love and loss, life and death, and lashings of sentimental claptrap. But some modern country music is actually pretty good. The Band Perry being a good example.

The Band Perry comprises three young siblings, hence the name, and they produce a fantastic sound. I’ll be checking them out on Spotify on the strength of If I Die Young. I must be getting old.
