‘The Help’ Movie Review (Video) | Period Piece Starring Emma Stone Out Now

32 sec read

‘The Help’ was released in theatres today and is gaining some really good reviews. Judging from the trailers I’ve seen, I really wasn’t impressed- it just seemed like another civil rights period piece to me.

However, after watching this review my interest has picked up. If you’re a fan of Emma Stone or dramas with a strong female lead then check this out.

After finding out that this movie was actually based on a fictional book written by a white woman, I didn’t really need to know any more about ‘The Help.’ It seemed to me that Hollywood was just trying to cash in on another moral anti-racism 1960’s drama.

Who knows, maybe there aren’t any bad reviews because of the subject matter of the film? Either way, this reviewer is right- this flick will probably join ‘Stand & Deliver’ as one of those fight-the-system movies shown to high school students.
