Anyone who watches Top Gear, and I suspect that’s most of you reading this, will know of The Stig, the man in white who tests all the cars for speed and handling while forever remaining a mystery due to never removing his helmet.
Until now.
In the first episode of the new series, The Stig’s true identity was revealed for the first time ever. Jeremy Clarkson introduced The Stig, who walked on stage and then removed his helmet to reveal the truth.
The Stig is Michael Schumacher! Or maybe he isn’t. It seems that on this occasion The Stig was indeed Schumacher, as he was the man to test the Ferrari FXX, the supercar which smashed the fastest time record.
But of course Schumacher isn’t The Stig full-time, so this reveal adds weight to the theory that The Stig is played by a number of different people, including real-life racing drivers who find themselves with a spare day or two.
Or it could be Ben Collins. The mystery continues.
