The Tourist has one of the best on-screen pairings I’ve ever seen: Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. Both of whom are first class actors and two of the best-looking people on the planet. A match made in Heaven?
While the actors may be perfect counterfoils to each other, the characters they portray in The Tourist aren’t. They get on, but their whole relationship is based on a lie, with Jolie pulling all the strings.
Frank, played by Depp, is an ordinary tourist who meets and flirts with Elise, played by Jolie. The twist is that this was no chance encounter, with Elise planning it all along.
The Tourist is due to be released on December 10, 2010, and I am definitely interested in seeing how things play out. Which means this trailer has done its job extremely well.
