“Tubthumping” by Chumbawumba is the latest forgotten pop gem to get the Undercover Project treatment, thanks to We Might be Giants.
The Undercover Project is the brainchild of the Onion AV Club. They’re encouraging bands to cover songs from their master wish list, and the results are often spectacular.
Listening to this cover, it all makes a lot of sense. But things don’t have to be too off the wall to be appreciated. Watching the studio full of staffers singing along heartily to the raucous chorus made my day.
