November 6th, 2006 at 12:34 pmI was so excited to get TVU as I do not live in the US and enjoy American TV. Most of the time the pictures have pixels and sometimes freeze but other times, it has pretty good reception. It is simple and easy to use. I am quite upset though as ABC is no longer available along with Disney Channel. Does anyone know whether these channels will return? Also, from what I know, none of the internet TVs work with the MAC.
Andy Breene Says:
November 7th, 2006 at 9:11 amIt is indivduals that actually re-broadcast the channels over the internet. So you may or may not see a channel again depending if someone decides to broadcast it.
Whoever broadcasts the channel potentially faces a lawsuit.

You will find that TVU was initially released as a clone of SopCast. There is a big wide world out there beyond America you know.
Andy Breene Says:
November 8th, 2006 at 12:55 pmColumbo: TVUPlayer is not even American anyway. Also Im not from the US.
TVUPlayer differs in a number of ways to SopCast and the many other P2P Internet TV software already available.
Main two differences are that it is much easier to use for someone watching a channel and secondly it contains a high percent of copyrighted content.

I know of two other players who have far more channels than this one, and their pretty good so far and it’s free!

August 19th, 2007 at 1:05 pmthe free tv stations are clueless. they have no clue on how to embrace new technology. they’ve always run freely with antennas and you would think they could make their programs (plus advertising) free over the internet.
instead, they wait for others to use technologies and then complain. all the big free networks should ban together and create a system like this. they wouldn’t even need the bs nielsen ratings anymore to track usage. cable is a different matter since they require subscriptions (plus throw in loads of advertising anyway with a big percent of their programming being infomercials).
hopefully, they start getting a clue.

August 6th, 2008 at 8:31 pmHi my name is dave and i have agoriphobia, point being im inside all the time, and at least half of that time is spent here in Internet world. TVU Player saved my life.
Iv tried (and keep trying) every tv player software/TV Web Players and tvu beats them all. I agree with what the person said in a previous post regarding the major networks to start broadcasting over the net.
Even if they bog the programing with commercials I wouldnt mind, advertising could foot the bill. Another point brought up earlier, it is true that the persons broadcasting cable tv stations over the net are at risk of pirate penalties. So, what is the insentive for them to broadcast?
Im not a religous man but god bless the few who are broadcasting- Spike tv- MMA- The Speed Channel(Wheels)- ESPN-THe Comedy Network-CBS-CW Network and of coarse mav tv. Not having cable or satelite myself, the internet is my prime sorce of entertainment and also a major supply of my brain food (researching & learning)
Personally, I do hope the networks start broadcasting over the net. I could stop my compulsive seach for THE Best Internet Television.

September 27th, 2008 at 2:22 pmyeah TVUPlayer is pretty cool, the only problem is there are just a few channels.. after some research, i have found this other one (www.satellite-tv-player.com) which has a very large channel offering. the video quality is ok (even if it’s not the best) but at least there’s plenty of channels and movie streams. check this out! January 28th, 2009 at 6:31 pmIts time earth people got rid of money and do things for the fun of doing them. Otherwise it will get worse the stealing. After the western world, with no conscience robbed, pillaged and raped the rest of the world to enable their life style, now those that have been raped, robbed and pillaged are doing the same. They have no choice but to do the same if they do not want to go under. So for as long as it continues, we will ALL enjoy it, i fear there are not many who would pay for something if they can get it for free, even if they say they do.
The world is crooked now, we have to live with that.
