“JOHN Forbes Nash Jr, the mathematical genius whose struggle with schizophrenia was chronicled in the film A Beautiful Mind, has died with his wife in a car crash.
“Nash, 86, and Alicia Nash, 82, were in a taxi in the American state of New Jersey when the driver allegedly lost control and crashed into a guard rail on the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday.
“New Jersey State Police Sgt Gregory Williams said the couple was ejected from the vehicle.
““It doesn’t appear that they were wearing seatbelts,” he said.
“A colleague who had received an award with Nash in Norway earlier in the week said they had just flown home and the couple had taken a cab home from the airport.”
