“Roderick McDonald — known as Roderick William Robinson during his time in Australia — was handed a six-month prison term for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl at Leppington between 1998 and 1999.
“The 76-year-old, who police believe has information about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, will be extradited from Malta by UK police for the rape of a child under 13.
“They are also expected to quiz him about paedophile gangs operating in the Algarve region in 2007, when three-year-old Madeleine went missing.”
