The first rule of shopping for anything for your wedding is to never mention that you’re buying X item for a wedding.
Seriously.
I sorted out my whole wedding for about $1000 – and that’s the lot. The wedding dress, the flowers, a six course meal at the reception… It is doable.
Can you tell I have a certain disdain for the wedding industry? Sure, I would have loved to have felt like a pretty, pretty princess on ‘my big day’, but I wasn’t going to put the down payment on a house to get that feeling.
