Sometimes, when the world feels like it’s going to shit and humans are being bad to each other, it’s nice to think about how the complex systems in nature are carrying along just fine.

(Unless people are mucking that up, but that’s a different topic.)

Ants, although they kind of creep me out for a few reasons, are incredibly fascinating. Between farming and the huge networks they can build underground, they top (or almost top) the list of cool insects.
