“US federal investigators are trying to determine if a gunman who opened fire in a Los Angeles airport, killing one person, had been targeting airport security agents.
“The lone gunman, whom the FBI identified as Los Angeles resident Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, stormed into a packed terminal at LAX and opened fire on Friday, killing an unarmed Transportation Security Administration agent before he was shot and captured.
“The FBI said Ciancia is being treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
“The gunfire in Terminal 3 touched off panic and chaos at one of the world’s busiest airports, as hundreds of travellers ran frantically for safety or dove for cover behind racks of luggage.” – ABC.net.au
