It’s pretty clear that The Witcher is off and running on a great start, but… what exactly is happening?
“It’s a point of discussion whether or not Netflix’s The Witcher is actually a video game adaptation. On a technical level, it’s just not: it’s an adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski novels that CD Projekt Red’s famous RPGs were based on.
“And yet there’s no denying the impact of the games on the show and it’s production: it’s just hard to imagine that a company like Netflix is throwing this sort of of money at some Polish fantasy novels without the games.
“The Witcher games, and if we’re being honest, mostly The Witcher 3, are the touchstone that the bast majority of players are gong to return to when they watch this show.”
