Play with fire, play with sharp tools like pocket knives, throw a spear, deconstruct appliances, break the DMCA and drive a car. These are all things that kids should be doing to avoid being overprotected in today’s world.

Overprotecting your kids will only lead to disaster, but if you let them play and explore they will actually be smarter and safer.

Sadly, it reminds me of some overprotective parents I know right in my immediate circle. Kids who can’t watch Disney movies because there is a protagonist will be sadly mistaken when the first kid picks on them at the playground.

I agree with this theory; without self-learning, I never would be where I am right now. People don’t listen to advice and must learn things on there own, and I was still learning the rules of using a knife a mere 2 years ago.
