By now, I’m sure you’ve at least caught a trailer of the new Seth Rogen comedy/drama coming out tomorrow titled “50/50.” I, for one, am going to see the film merely because of the talented actors involved, but any doubters can look to this review for some more insight.

Taking a subject like cancer and making it funny can be delicate, but most critics are already praising this one.

The reviewer in this video points to “500 Days of Summer” as a similar film to compare this too and I wholeheartedly agree. Although it’s not romantic, the balance of comedy and drama is present. It should be noted that this film was based on a friend of Seth Rogen’s who had cancer and helped him write the script.

This project was originally conceived in 2003 and Rogen had to acquire enough capital to fund the project which explains it’s late release. Hopefully this will get all the box office attention it deserves.
