The Gifted has made its debut on Fox. This is a new TV series set in the X-Men universe, albeit in an alternate timeline in which the X-Men have disappeared.
The series starts with an ordinary couple (muggles, if you like), go on the run after discovering that their children have mutant powers.
The Gifted has received critical praise, and it is being compared favorably to Marvel’s Inhumans. There are even shades of Heroes in there as well, which isn’t a bad thing.
The first season of The Gifted will play out over 10 episodes, and if the quality continues on the same path as the pilot it should be successful.
