Le Parkour or Free Running is becoming an increasingly popular sport. It originally began in France as a means of expression in a society that many perceived as becoming increasingly fascist, especially in Paris.
The sport is also popular in many impoverished Eastern European countries such as Latvia and other parts of the old USSR. Although it definitely has its roots in a sort of passive resistance form of revolution, it is also being recognized as a sport which is simply awesome.
Its growing popularity in the US has inspired dozens of commercials and even makes up the first 20 minutes or so of the new James Bond Movie: Casino Royale.
Whether it is a social movement or just another extreme sport is up in the air, but one thing is certain: it’s absolutely amazing to watch.
