Most emperor penguins live in the freezing conditions of Antarctica. But not Lala. This plucky penguin would rather live it up in the suburbs than risk frostbite.

This video shows Lala collecting fish for her adopted family’s dinner. Of course, his fishing technique isn’t like any other penguin I’ve seen. Instead, Lala sets off with his little backpack and waddles to the nearest store.

It’s a pretty good gig really. Lala gets to taste the fish before it’s bundled into his bag for the return journey.

I’m just besotted by this little guy. Who knew penguins were so smart?
