Being an engineering student, I appreciate the effort that goes into making one of these. Of course, being an engineering student I also happen to know that this kind of thing is usually a product of a lethal combination of procrastination and boredom.
Part of me couldn’t help but think, “What on earth did they do to that poor house?” They would’ve done Rube Goldberg proud, but I can’t imagine parents and significant others were too pleased. And it looks like it would have taken eons to clean up.
Setting this up would’ve been a nightmare. The residents of the house would not only have had to face an obstacle course for a few days, but they would’ve had to make do without items used by the contraption (including an alarm clock, a slinky, and a pair of cell phones.)
One wonders how the creators had the heart to set it off after completion, considering the time required to set it up. I suppose this fellow would’ve felt the same.
