Music lovers around the world might have fallen for Skrillex’s dirty dubstep sounds, but I must admit I struggled to see what all the fuss was about. It took a whole different artist and the addition of real instruments, but TheUnsungHeroine has made me a Skrillex convert with her cover of “Bangarang!”

Admittedly, this doesn’t sound a lot like the “Bangarang!” we’re all familiar with. TheUnsungHeroine, or Kristina as her mom probably calls her, has brought the musicality out of this tune. It’s an amazing interpretation, and it shows an understanding of sound and playing technique beyond her 17 years.

I can’t say it’ll convince me to track down more Skrillex music, but it does want to make me learn more about this teen talent!
