Just in case you haven’t heard, and I’m pretty sure you will have by now, Amy Winehouse has died at the age of 27. She was found in her London flat on Saturday afternoon.
This video shows her last public appearance, as she took to the stage in support of her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield while singing Mama Said.
It’s haunting knowing that Winehouse passed away a couple of days after this. And it’s sad that someone has died at such a young age. However, if it was drugs, as it seems it was, then she only has herself to blame.
What I found a little messed up was how much coverage Winehouse got even though 84 people had died in Norway the day before. Is talent and celebrity that important these days that her life is considered of greater consequence?
