U.S. Airways Water Landing in Hudson River Caught on Surveillance Tape

After hitting a flock of birds, a U.S. Airways plane with 155 crew and passengers was forced to land. The water crash in the Hudson River not far from Manhattan was caught by this surveillance video.

The original news video about the crash can be found here.

I didn’t quite catch the crash landing the first time I watched the video, but they do replay it at the end and highlight it for you.

I can’t help but wonder if the pilot is going to get some sort of bravery award or something. That was quite a nice landing for someone who is trying to fit a plane smoothly into the Hudson River.
