U.S. Airways Water Landing in Hudson River Caught on Surveillance Tape

After hitting a flock of birds, a U.S. Airways plane with 155 crew and passengers was forced to land. The water crash in the Hudson River not far from Manhattan was caught by this surveillance video.

I didn’t quite catch the crash landing the first time I watched the video, but they do replay it at the end and highlight it for you.

I can’t help but wonder if the pilot is going to get some sort of bravery award or something. That was quite a nice landing for someone who is trying to fit a plane smoothly into the Hudson River.
