You may or may not have seen some of these Auto-Tune The News videos by now, but if not then you’re in for a treat. This one is from July and covers Sarah Palin quitting and a passionate debate in Congress.
The deal, for those who aren’t up on the videos, is that everything has been auto-tuned so that even the most banal spoken sentence becomes a line from a song. Plus you get Andrew and Michael Gregory inserting themselves in the footage.
I’m quite a recent convert to these videos but after seeing this masterpiece I was hooked and watched the rest of them. Another classic sees Katie Couric singing about global warming, which is something I think I always wanted to see and hear but didn’t know until I had.
I just wish the news were actually like this because I find it dull and depressing. When even the worst news is sung to you it suddenly sounds a lot better. Which is why these videos work so well.
