My favorite summer reality show is back and better than ever! I was surprised to see most of the first dances were really good and not very many sucked (although I’m not a fan of Susie, so I think her dance sucked, but that’s just because I’m biased).
But my big stand out this year came from the new hip-hop choreographers and their dancing puppets, Katee and Joshua. Joshua quickly won a place in my heart as a favorite when he and Katee danced a story about young love and a young man heading out to war.
These days that really is a big issue and likely happens many times a day to families and lovers all over the country and the world. I hate to admit it, but their dance was so powerful, and the meaning behind it, I actually had tears in my eyes by the end and had to rewind and watch again.
A lot of that was likely my hormones acting all wonky, but I would be surprised if these two didn’t go far in the competition.
