Carry On Wayward Son is a guitar classic from the 1970s. In its original incarnation it was a progressive rock song by Kansas, but it’s now been given a new lease of life as an easy-listening gem.
This is a cover of Carry On Wayward Son as played by the Maniacal 4 Trombone Quartet. And it’s pretty damn awesome.
The closest I’ve come to playing this song myself is on one of the Guitar Hero games. It was difficult enough on there, let alone in real life. But these guys nail it.
It’s a shame they let the guitar in at all, as I would have loved to see them tackling even the tricky parts with a trombone or two. But then I’m never quite satisfied.
