Seeing their child dropping off the edge of the platform as a train pulls into the station must be just about the worst thing any mother could experience. And I think this lady will need counseling for years to come.

The YouTube video shows the incident which happened in Melbourne, Australia. It’s taken from security camera footage and shows how the woman turns away for a few seconds and then watches helplessly as the pram trundles off the edge.

Luckily, the baby was strapped in to its stroller, and doctors think that saved its life. Although the pram and the baby inside were dragged along for 30 meters, the kid received only minor injuries and was discharged from hospital the same day.

I can’t imagine how the mother felt during and after this but it’s scary enough just watching the footage from afar after it has happened. I’m just glad the train was stopping otherwise it would have been much, much worse.
