As crude and sexist as the original version of the song was, sappy pop-rock artist Ben Folds really knows how to transform it into something truly beautiful.

In fact, if I didn’t speak English I’d probably mistake this for a love ballad. Apparently Ben was even asked to play this song at one of his friend’s weddings. How sweet…

As a fan of both Ben Folds and Dr. Dre, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this unique cover. Ben Folds’ style is so contrary to Dr.Dre’s but I guess that’s what makes this song work. With the added harmonies and live instruments, this tune is brought to a whole new level.

For those of you concerned about the “suicide attempt” Ben commits at the end- there isn’t any need to worry. Ben often does stage pranks when he performs and is still alive and well.
