Brian Melo Wins “Canadian Idol” | Live Performance of “All I Ever Wanted”

Ontario’s Brian Melo has taken out the latest season of Canadian Idol, beating Alberta’s Jaydee Bixby to the title. The show was a classic duel of opposites – east meets west, rock meets country – but Brian’s consistently brilliant performances got him over the line.

This is the first performance of Brian’s new single “All I Ever Wanted,” from the top 2 showcase. It perfectly shows off the intensity and emotion that gave Brian the edge over his more fancied teen rival.

Of course, we all know this is when the hard business of Idol really begins. He’ll rush to churn out an album and have to sing this song a few trillion times. I’m thrilled he won, but I just can’t help feeling a little sorry for the guy.
