British hip hop is gaining ground every day. The genre was a bit of a joke in the 80s and 90s, but now, thanks to a new crop of grime artists, it’s taking its rightful place in the charts and on the airwaves.
Grime has had a big influence on the current group of superstars, but British rap now has its own unique style and voice. There are even some talented white rappers, which, with the exception of Eminem, can not be said of the U.S.
This song is brilliant, although there’s likely to be one or two of the rappers who you won’t appreciate. Chipmunk in particular seems to have had a lot of hate coming his way since he moved into the mainstream.
