Sunny Brooke White has always had a Carly Simon vibe to her performance, so it was little surprise to see her strum away to You’re So Vain in 1970s week.

The number was also perfect to sing considering Simon Cowell’s place on the judging panel. Yes, just like the lyric said he really did think the song was about him.

While Brooke’s song choice may have been predictable, her rendition was anything but boring. She has such a natural and likable quality about her that draws an audience in.

I think America’s tired of divas, and someone like Brooke who steps out of that mould is destined to do great things this year.
