Mary J. Blige was a soul singer who’s taken the hard knocks and emerged with serious credibility. And then she made a commercial for Burger King.

I wouldn’t say that this is the worst ad ever, but it’s a bit hard to take Miss Blige seriously when she’s singing about crispy chicken.

It seems the public agrees, because after some serious backlash the commercial disappeared from Burger King’s YouTube channel. It seems crazy to can something which would have undoubtedly cost them some serious cash, but business is a strange beast!

Perhaps we were all a bit harsh and Blige just feels really passionately about chicken wraps. Or perhaps she was chasing those dollar signs!
