Tour de France - ParisYou know, I have never understood why they allow people to stand so close to the bikers on route for the win of the Tour de France. The crazy fans jump out in front of bikers, throw things at them, try to distract them, and now they are apparently setting traps with dogs.

I was in Paris in 1998 when the bikers were to complete their final stretch onto Champs’elysee, and I was not up to the idea of going around all the madness, with all the mad people gobbling up the streets and the metro.

Here is a great collection of all the things that can wrong as a competitor in the annual Tour de France. There are many obstacles along the way, and that is not limited to the tough course and terrain, and you primary competition, the other bikers. No matter how bad your day has been it’s not likely that you’ve got it worse than the poor sap in this clip. Imagine feeling as if you’re on top of the world. You’re near the finish line in a bicycle race.

All I can say to these guys is good luck. They’re certainly going to need it. You can follow their adventures at inTransit.tv.

Laughing at this video is undeniably sadistic, but I challenge you not to. There is something undeniably hilarious about kids falling off of trikes.

The humor definitely lies between the familiarity of these situations and the agonizing moment of lost control seconds before the crash.

So you thought you had good balance huh? Maybe you do martial arts, maybe you can ‘wax on, wax off’ whilst standing on a pillar 50 feet up in the air over a chasm filled with raging rapids. Chances are that even if you can do that, you probably can’t do this.

This guy is well on his way to becoming a Zen Master of wheels. I’m expecting his self help book “The Way of the Wheel” to hit stores any day now. In the meantime, just stare in awe at his prowess, and come up with conspiracy theories about how he’s doing it.
