Charles Barkley hosted Saturday Night Live last night for the second time. The last time was 16 years ago when he was at the top of his fame and wasn’t aging, bald, and bloated. Unlike now.

He made the most of his appearance on the show, spoofing the show’s musical guest Alicia Keys. This video is only of a rehearsal taking place but it gives an idea of what Barkley looks like in a wig and a dress. In a word, scary.

Alicia Keys is utterly gorgeous, so for Barkley to even try and impersonate her is a brave move. OK, so he doesn’t really pull it off, and I’d personally rather have the real Keys there than a charlatan. But still, it’s funny.

Unfortunately, this was pretty much the highlight of the latest edition of Saturday Night Live because the rest wasn’t very funny. I can only assume the Christmas break is still affecting the writers a little.
