Chikezie Eze has been coasting through American Idol, delivering pleasant vocals and unforgettable performances. But after nearly being eliminated last week, it looks like he received a wake-up call.

I honestly didn’t know Chikezie had this performance in him. His bluesy arrangement of “She’s a Woman” was superb, and he performed it with such energy and passion.

And when you consider Chikezie grew up listening to Nigerian music and hadn’t really experienced The Beatles before, his interpretation here is even more incredible.

So is this the new Chikezie? I’m wondering how on earth he can top this routine, but anxiously awaiting next week to see what he’ll do next!
