New Zealand is reeling after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake decimated the major town of Christchurch.

The force of the earthquake, the peak hour time it hit, and the heritage buildings of Christchurch were a recipe for disaster. As I type 75 people have been confirmed dead, and hundreds are still missing in the rubble.

The footage in this video shows us the toll taken on the city, and its residents left behind. Our heart breaks for them, and applauds the rescuers who are desperately searching for life amongst the ruins. Sometimes they find it, but all too often they don’t.
