Technology moves at a frightening pace these days. No sooner have you learned how to use something properly than it becomes obsolete as the next big thing arrives. This is especially true of computers and the Internet.

This video is a gem – it shows a world from only a relatively short time ago but one that’s vastly different from the one we know today. Let’s go surfing! On the Web at least.

It stars Mr. Newbie, who knows nothing about the Internet, at least until the nice lady shows him how it works. You’ll first need a powerful computer though – with a 400MB hard drive and a huge 4MB of Ram. Wow.

This video is cleverly edited to make it look even more lame than it would already. The “sport” to “porn” reference is brilliant. I know the Web had to start somewhere but was it really that rubbish at the beginning?

Unfortunately yes. Take it from someone who remembers it like that. Thank God for Broadband.
