Everyone praises the chimpanzee and the gorilla for their street smarts. But the great apes aren’t the only ones blessed with brains. Here the humble capuchin monkey shows what he can do.

The first part of the vid gives us the lowdown on the rather detailed process of cracking nuts.

There are no metal nutcrackers for these little guys. They need to test whether the nuts are ripe, discard the husks, dry the nuts for days, and then wrestle with rocks to crack them. This is no easy feat, with the nuts regularly flying off in all directions! Yet somehow, they manage to get a feed.

Not so lucky is the jaguar, whose plan for monkey stew is quickly foiled by these clever creatures. The jaguar may have the biggest teeth, but it’s clear that the monkeys have the biggest brains!
