This has to be one of the most random advertisements I’ve seen. It has nothing to do with the product being advertised (chocolate.) It’s still pretty amusing, though. And besides, chocolate makes you do weird things.

Love it or hate, it can’t be denied that the ad is pretty memorable. It might have something to do with the fact that they’ve used a Genesis song, or that most drummers look a little bit like this guy. I suppose there’s something primal about drumming.

The foremost question on my mind was whether that was a real gorilla, or Phil Collins in a costume that was leftover from Planet of the Apes.It seems too realistic to be CGI. Considering the campaign cost £6.2 million, the latter seems a little more likely.
