Creepy Web Search Video | Life As Seen Through Google Autocomplete

28 sec read

The majority of us use Google on a daily basis, instinctively heading to the Google Search homepage whenever we need to find something on the Web. There’s also Bing and Yahoo, but Google is the main player.

Google uses the millions of searches it processes each day to build a picture of humanity, and this video explores what conclusions Google has drawn about us.

This cleverly uses the Autocomplete feature to see what Google expects people to search for at different stages of life. The results are curious, surprising, and just a little depressing.

Sex and relationships feature right through from the age of 10 to the age of 80. People also worry that they haven’t done certain things by the time they hit certain ages. It’s fascinating, but Google clearly knows too much about us all.
