We’re down to the pointy end of things on American Idol, with just three contestants remaining. Who’s going to take it out this year? My money’s on the passionate rock god, David Cook.
David manages to deliver consistently brilliant but incredibly eclectic performances. You just never know what you’re going to get. This week it was a little Roberta Flack, as selected by notoriously nasty judge Simon Cowell.
It certainly wasn’t an obvious choice for David, but I think that’s why it worked so well. It allowed him to show his tender side and make the girls swoon, which is sure to land him some votes.
It also allowed his vocals to soar, which doesn’t always happen in the big rock songs.
David could be this year’s answer to Chris Daughtry. The only difference is, he could actually win the title.
