Douglas Adams Google Doodle Video | The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy Author

Douglas Adams was the author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, a series of books that had a big impact on popular culture.

Unfortunately Adams is no longer with us, having passed away in 2001 at the tender age of just 49. Still, that doesn’t mean we cannot celebrate his life and work.

Google did just that in order to commemorate what would have been his 61st birthday. This video shows the Google Doodle in all its glory.

The Google Doodle features several important elements of Adams’ work. There’s the language-translating Babel fish, Marvin the paranoid android, and several quotes from the books. I didn’t notice any reference to 42 though. Odd.
