Star Trek is 50-years-old, with the first episode of The Original Series having premiered on September 8th, 1966.
Since then there have been a handful of other series, hundreds of episodes, and more than a dozen movies. And with a brand new series set to begin in 2017, there is no sign of Star Trek disappearing anytime soon.
