Father Wrote the Play By Leeland Greenmess | Intriguing New Web Series Makes Debut

Vimeo LogoWhile writing for Web TV Hub, I have seen many new Web series début over the past year. Some have been good, some have been terrible, but none has intrigued me in quite the same way that this one has.

Father Wrote the Play By Leeland Greenmess, to give it it’s full title, may end up being a load of twaddle, but based on the first episode, and a couple of promos on Vimeo, I want to see more.

The Haunted Conifer

Although it’s kind of a comedy, unlike many other Web TV series, there aren’t really any jokes as such, it’s more a collection of funny yet bizarre situations.

The basic plot is that Leeland Greenmess’ father wrote a play, The Haunted Conifer, which he asked his son to produce as his dying wish. The first episode deals with the family history, and the dying wish being delivered.

Episode 1 – The Death Of Father

Original To The Extreme

What’s intriguing about this series is it’s originality, as I can’t remember a single show which is anything like it. Rather than playing to a defined audience, they are trying to forge their own.

I hope the series carries on in the same vein as it has begun, and doesn’t end up falling in to cliché and generics in order to grab an audience.
