If you ask the Flight Of The Conchords to write a charity record you’re guaranteed to get something slightly different than the usual cheesy nonsense. And so it turned out, with Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That).
This video shows the whole process employed in writing this song for the charity Cure Kids. Which is rather important in giving the lyrics some context.
Flight Of The Conchords asked a load of schoolchildren questions about raising money and helping sick kids in the hope that the answers would inspire some lyrics to a song.
The result is Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That), which acts as a charity single (performed by loads of New Zealand music artists) but also as a fun satire on the whole idea of writing a heartfelt song to persuade people to donate money.
