Steve is the sort of guy a writer like me could happily enjoy a beer with. I just know we’d hit it off because like me, Steve doesn’t tolerate the misuse of apostrophes.

See, I correctly used two apostrophes in that last sentence. We’d and doesn’t are contractions. They love apostrophes.

Ditto possessives, like Steve’s distaste for the poor use of apostrophes.

Plurals are where we all get a little ranty. It is never ever ever acceptable to use an apostrophe for a plural. No ifs or buts. Don’t even think about it.

Listen up and heed Steve’s advice everybody. Together we can eradicate the incorrect use of apostrophes!
